Why You Might Be Struggling

by Mike Litman

It just beats up so many people.Badly.

“Mike, what are you talking about?”

Follow me here amigo, this is important.

For 7 years, I ran around in circles. Circles.

I was going nowhere. Real fast.

Eventually, I got my head out of the sand and started
figuring things out, though this is important.

I see too many people, thousands of people, struggling
unnecessarily.

And for many, it’s NOT their fault.

Let me explain.

What worked for many in school, college, and as an employee
DOESN’T work as an entrepreneur.

People are struggling and one of the BIGGEST reasons is
they’re getting beat up by ‘this’.

What is ‘this’?

Here’s the answer:

PERFECTION

Yes.

Making PERFECTION your goal is the quickest way to fail as an
entrepreneur.

The quickest.

Here’s what happens.

We build a mindset over the years.

Our teachers say, be perfect in school and on your tests.

Our boss says, be perfect at your job or I’ll fire you.

Then people bring this ‘perfection mindset’ to their business
and they STAND STILL.

They wait to act until everything is perfect.

Perfect. Perfect. Perfect.

What a bunch of NONSENSE. This mindset doesn’t work in the
real entrepreneurial world.

This is NO SUCH THING as perfect.

Get going.

Here’s what I did.

When I was struggling years ago, I made a change.

Follow me here.

In school, they tell you to shoot for an ‘A’. (Grades in
school are A, B, C, and D)

In business, you now know that doesn’t work.

What I did is when my ideas got to a ‘C’ level I took ACTION.

Action.

I entered the marketplace.

I got feedback. I saw what worked and what didn’t. I then
improved.

You can’t grow by doing nothing.

When your ideas, prospecting scripts, books, etc…are at a
‘C’ level, TAKE ACTION.

You don’t have to get it right, you just have to get it
going.

Aiming for perfection before you begin will destroy you.

Get going amigo.

You can do it.

The world needs your gifts. Badly.

Love Ya! You’re The Best!

Your Coach,

Michael

P.S. You don’t have to get it right, you just have to get it
going.

Mike, couldn’t agree more! I have often told staff, an A-minus report sitting on your desk does no one any good, get it to a B and get it off your desk! I occasionally catch a typo or two too late, but the article is published, the blog updated, the newsletter distributed..etc. You may enjoy a southern saying an old high school boyfriend used to say (it may need translation if you are foreign to the South!)…he was always action-oriented and would say, “Paint me green, ’cause I’m gone!” Anytime I am “accused” by friends of moving too fast, I smile and think of Emery and his cute saying! It was this half baked approach of just getting it going that brought down GM – don’t get the product right just get it out the doors and let the consumer bring the car/truck/suv back to the dealer to get it fixed, again and again and again. That’s why the Japanese kicked out butts – because they got it going and going correctly!

Thanks coach this is just what i needed and where I am at in my business. Really need to get my recruiting up. I am determined to have my team ranked among the best in my profession and to become the best leader I can be. So thanks for all that you do and one day hope to meet you personally.

Hi Michael,

sure that our gifts are for the world
as long by keep it for ourself do not
make the difference!
Imagine all the people
doing it. Big! The best from us!
Our best grains of being set to serve
the world close the eyes and imagine
how different it will be loking like!
even a romance will fly in some aerodina
lenticular high speed green whirling
as that time we still have
for a great life love
here on the earth
serving!
WE ARE ALL THE BEST!
or could be..
Daniela
and thanks SOO MUCH

Donald Rumsfeld said “You go to war with the army you have, not the army you wish you had.” Your country’s security needs won’t wait for every Humvee to get uparmored, and your income needs won’t wait for you to perfect your system before you roll out your product or service. McDonalds has been selling burgers for more than 50 years and they’ve been doing it faster and better than anyone, and you know what? They’re still working on improving their system.

I rolled out something just this week: http://www.textament.com

Mike – I couldn’t agree with you more – the problem is that we’re deluged daily with 5,000 self proclaimed gurus who all have a better way.

So, who do we believe? Personally, I’d rather believe me

Bill

PS. Keep it going!

Hi Michael,
Even though the information given has been writing in many books and articles, it is important to keep hearing or reading the information. Repetition is vital until it becomes second nature and you are the person Doing.
Thank you for the reminder, it was very timely.

WoW. Mike, this writing seemed just like it was directed at me, personally. Thanks. The world _does_ need my gifts-
you’ve made me aware. You’re the greatest! Bruce

Mike,

This one thought is what hit home for me when I heard it on one of your recordings. I kept playing it over and over in my head, and I realized it was “right on”.

I started a simple website armed with only one principle: “You don’t have to get it right, you just have to get it going”. I thank you for that, and that’s what got it going…and it’s going great!

Thank you so much,

Weldon Crawford

WOW Mike,
sometimes you really amaze me. My Mother has been calling me a perfectionist for years and I actually started believing it myself. It’s time to get it going like you say.
Thanks,
Darren

Thank you for teaching the value of C-level; it’s been underrated for too long. Nothing is achieved without action – thanks for driving home that point!

Hi Mike

I agree with you . I think that people are afraid of making mistakes .Making a mistake and then realizing where u need to tweak things is helpful

Love
Karmen

Sometimes we struggle! Sometimes we get it right! Who cares as long as we get it done!

A grateful student.
