"Mike, those are some ugly words, why are you sharing them
with me today?"
Amigo, good question.
Let me explain.
Where does negativity, selfishness, addictions, depression,
poverty mindset come from?
There could be many answers to this question, though I'm
going to share one important answer today. One.
Remember this or write it down. You haven't heard it
before.
***People form habits, habits EFFECT GENERATIONS.

"Mike, what do you mean?"
Hold one second. Follow me here.
This is one of the most important insights I've gained over
the last year.
Generations are linked.
Yes, that's why the rich get richer.
Cities that have a lot of poverty repeat the cycle decade
after decade. The poverty mindset gets passed on.
What we think effects just 'us', effects our kids and are
kid's kids. Yes.
Negativity, employee thinking, aversion to risk,
scatteredness, these limited habits can be passed down,
generation after generation.
Passivity, absentee parents, bad money management skills,
all of it can be passed down.
What are you passing down to your kids and their kids?
Power or weakness?
Focus or scatteredness?
Love or fear?
Seek to become a GENERATIONAL SUCCESS.
Sometimes we make small steps that seem insignificant
today. We have no idea what that EXAMPLE of strength and
positivity means to those around us.
It's greater than we know.
Pay the price.
Raise the stop sign and say "I've had negativity passed on
to me and I'm DETERMINED not to pass it forward to my kids
and generations I'll never meet."
Be a hero to people you'll never meet.
Set an example of perseverance, courage, and consistent
action.
Work on improving your habits 1% each day.
Get up 10 minutes early.
You me, all of us, were born with so much potential, now
it's up to us how much we'll use.

Mike, I personallly like the "People form habits, and habits form futures." catch-phrase because it's very true.
You're VERY right in that negativity gets passed down and the only way to do that is to break the cycle. Break the pattern.

You have GOT it again!!!
Being involved in MLM business, I knew that the sucess key will be a network expanded in both wide and depth.
I decided to deal with a particular field. The beekeeping Industry. When I started talking to the beekeepers advising them that can fight almost all the various conditions of bees without resorting to antibiotics and chemicals THEY WERE LAUGHING AT ME.
However I never bowed. I never lost my courage and faith. I stood up, saying to myself that sooner than later I shall become a GENERATION SUCESS and people will appreciate my ideas, for long time after me have passed away. Notwithstanding the difficulties, I was going from beekeeper after beekeeper. At the begining the rate of rejection it was 50:1.
19 months later (todate), by being of service, by sharing knowledge and ideas, by being completely unselfish, looking only how can I be uselful to the others, I built a network of more than 300 beekeeprs, and now the one is bringing the other to me, alike the bees. The target is to expand my net to 1000 beekeepers this year. The rate of succes is now 50:10
As very correctly you have stressed many times, I suddenly realised that the amount landed to my bank account every month from the few hundreds, of last year it started counting by thousands.
I heard from people now, claiming that they have saved and have multiplied their colonies thanks to Alexandros' ideas and efforts and this is what it pleases me more.
Yes Mike, you are absolutely right at all times, and I thank at all times the person who gave me your e-mail address, few years back. This person changed my life. His name is Martin Furner. You gave meaning to my life. Thanks both of you from the depths of my heart.

Another great thought.
I think we are often unaware of the scrapbook we keep in our minds. All those pictures, thoughts are logged. Our mind does not have the ability to distinguish between fact and fiction so we log them all.
We need to filter out those past thoughts. One technique I was taught was the “I am…†exercise. You write “I am†at the top of the paper and start filling in the blanks. Obvious ones will come first; father, husband, son…keep going and you will have some possible surprises ; overweight, not very smart, private, weak….list them all.
Circle every one that is negative, for they are not true. With the circled ones rewrite a new script for your mental scrap book. “I forgive myself for judging myself as____for the truth is ____________.â€
Very powerful exercise that helps clears our vision of now and the future.

I think that's what I'm fighting, day in and day out. Generations of negativity! It's a constant battle between me and the eight year old in me. I pray I don't pass this negativity on to my kids. It is scary to think that we could be such a negative influence on generations of people we'll never even meet. Just goes to prove that I, we all need to clean up our act now...find the greatness in us and let it manifest for the whole world to see!

It's amazing when you observe people over a long period of time you can pick up on certain habits that they have. Most people don't even know that they have these habit because they were developed from such an early age.
I have caught several of the unconscious habits that were causing me a lot of trouble but only after I began to be aware of my habits.

Today I started to read the book "The Secret". I have been sitting here most of the day literally shaking inside. I am so afraid I will not know how to change the negativity and the nastiness I have endured since childhood. Why is it so easy to be mean to ourselves and each other when being kind brings so many positive results? My prayer is that we all see the good in "us".

That is so true! And I often see children move away from their home location to somewhere far away -- sometimes they don't even know why they are doing it, but I think the underlying reason is that they want to move from the negativity and culture of their home group.
It's a big ask for anyone to go against the flow of the culture... and sometimes the only way to survive it is to move from it.

How right you are Mike. As parents it is our duty to instill positive values and beliefs into our children this will then allow them to grow and develop their own positive habits and patterns. We owe it to the next generation.

Mike--Great insight on negativity. It is so much more fun to be positive. I just finished reading your book, "Conversations with Millionaires"--Awesome, I loved it. I'd like to recommend another book to everyone by Jeff Olson called "The Slight Edge." Jeff seems to have studied from some of the same people as you have. Both of you have drilled into my head that I don't have to wait until I get it right, I just have to get it going--not just today, but EVERY day. Just a little bit of positive effort every day will eventually compound into results that can be seen. Success is such a wonderful jouney....

This was an awesome reading today and you are so right. No one in our family had ever gone to college until one person (myself) decided to make things different and go as a non-traditional student while in my forties. My oldest son was in college with me and my two other children went to college. It is now a given that my grandchildren will go. The same goes for any other belief system that you have. Just now that the cycle can be broken, it just takes someone stepping up and doing it!

Whilst I get the angle you are coming from, I'm afraid I am going to have to go against the flow on this one.
I am so different from my parents and indeed grand parents) but in the wrong way. I wish I could be like them because then I would have achieved a whole lot more in life than I have now. Although they were working and middle class folks they had it together and really have achieved quite a lot. I on the other hand have had many dark periods in my life with depression, money and debt troubles and other problems, they were never affected by any of these problems. They certainly did not pass on any negative traits to me, and sadly it does not seem that I picked up many of the incredibly positive habits they possessed either....

This is the new catch-phrase I keep seeing on the Television.
There is definitely a surge in interest, in wanting to view the here-and-now. People are fascinated by the forensic, the unspeakable, the inner workings of the human mind.
What makes people, ………well,…….. people.
We are no longer satisfied with how something works, but the actuality of…………. the smallest fragment of motivation lying beyond each action.
The human being and the mind that controls him, is unique, but also very much alike to every other person.
We all are Human.
What we must keep in mind, is……………………….
It is up to each individual to guide their emotions and channel their actions.
As Benjamin Franklin taught: We must develop a set of Values.
Without a Value-System in place, individuals follow their instincts rather than their intelligence.
They don’t stop to consider, the way we live affects not only our existence, but changes the lives and destinies of all those we come in contact.
Also, our decisions not only affect the here-and-now, but have the power to affect several generations to follow.
We may be livinging in Reality but we are affected by the Actuality.
This may be contrued as meare ramblings of my mind, or ………………………………?
Consider these thoughts:
Be careful what you wish for………………..

We can only reap what we soe, so……………………………..
Man was not born in a vaccuum. We are all in this together. What we do affects our future and the future of all those to come.

In response to Craig and Michelle: Simply ignore them. Don't talk to negative people about what you are doing until you do it. Surround yourself with positive people.
I have negative cousins and others...Oh the gossiping!! I simply don't hang around them as often.
It's hard when it's a family member or even closer, a spouse. But you cannot change people. You BE the change you want to see in others. Then others will change around you.
I'm sure Mike can help you with this, but that's my take.
