When The Entrepreneur’s Curse Grabs You

by Mike Litman

Ideas almost destroyed me. They did.

“Mike, what are you talking about, I thought ideas are
always good?”

Amigo, interesting question.

Let’s keep going. Follow me here.

I used to think ideas were the greatest thing in the world.

Back when I first started my entrepreneurial journey, I
would have a new idea on a Monday, tell a few people.

Thursday, another idea would come to me.

A week later I came up with the ‘greatest idea ever’ in the
shower and told a few more people.

And on and on and on.

Ideas almost destroyed me.

“Mike, why?”

Another good question amigo.

Ideas were coming to me in an avalanche that I became the
most scattered person on the planet.

Completely scattered.

I was caught in the claws of what I call the ‘Idea
Avalanche’.

The ‘Idea Avalanche’ is the entrepreneur’s curse.

You have so many ideas and then you look back years later
and you’ve accomplished next to nothing.

What a waste. I wasted so much time.

Onward.

Ideas are neutral. They can be good or bad.

What raised me from failure to success wasn’t tons of
ideas, it was discovering how to focus and concentrate.

This wasn’t easy for me.

I see so many people getting beat up from a lack of focus.

They follow the ‘latest, greatest, gimmick’ and their
progress is in cement. It doesn’t move.

You, me, us, we’re better then that. Much better.

Find your focus. Take one step at a time. Just one.

You can do it. You know you can.

Stop being busy. Start being productive. You can do it.

The cure for the idea avalanche is to make a CONSCIOUS
attempt to bring 1% more focus and concentration into your
life daily.

My friend, I see you becoming a individual with laser like
focus.

I see you becoming an individual who can concentrate
incredibly.

Start now.

Love Ya! You’re The Best!

Your Coach,

Michael

P.S. The resource on the link below helped me go from
completely scattered to focused in minimum time.

Use it as well to improve your focus and concentration.

I have a new idea every morning 4 am – maybe I should turn myself into an idea generator lol. I hear the advice, its time to get moving on it.

I have recently started reading that book and its a true eye opener. I know this book will help because I lack concentration even while doing hypnosis.

Thank you for your words of encouragement!

mike
you are absolutely right, too many ideas ,are just knowledge ,but not applied ,further each idea everyday overlaps another idea because , we dont work with a purpose or goal,so we become an idea man , but not an achiever of not even one,
everyday if 1% can be applied , it is huge it looks 1% but but for 30 days it will be a focus and practicality
thank u mike,
i learnt a lot my dear mentor ,
grateful you

Mike,
Thanks for the Idea… Its starts to remind me of my condition, I got alot of ideas but up to now am not successful with my business. I tried reading all the success books that i can read but still the same. I think you hit it on the spot… The reason is because, i lack Focus.

Hi,
you are speaking directly to me. One idea after another and nothing is ever accomplished. You get a new idea and and never achieve nothing from the first idea and your are stuck and sometimes don’t know it.

I am learning to focus.

thanks for the link

you are a great mentor

much success to you, Mike

Thanks for the reminder. I have been working through some of the Sedona Method courses since last October and I have so many great ideas written in my journal it is wonderful but a bit overwhelming. I read Robin Sharma’s “Who will cry when you die” recently and wrote down “focus on the worthy” as one of the skills that was missing in my life. My days are so different now as I focus less on the mediocore issues and put my energy into taking the actions that are changing my life. Now I am focusing on one project at a time and making it successful before moving to the next. Currently bulding my first website – wrote lots of the txt this week. Then tellmans e-mails have been arriving re listbuilding. The law of attraction really works when you feel successful within! No more excuses!

Dear Mike,

You are SOOOOOO correct ~ Thank You for sharing.

We do a lot of work with the Ascended Masters and Archangels, even God..

Just yesterday I was saying to my partner as we completed another section of the new website, that I must address the “new idea” of Angelic Freedom Technique”. In that moment our Guides surrounded us and said “Whoa, hold on. You’re already offering so much and are getting scattered. Decide (they are always telling me to decide!), decide what You want to concentrate on and do that!”.

Its funny how Jesus can speak to us one day and then You speak the same message the next.

Well done and Thank You Mike.

You’re the best, too..

I have been saying for 10+ years that in my past life I must have been a king with all the money and no idea what to do with it, because in this life I have all the ideas and no money to get it done!

It’s not the how, it’s the why…
Man who chases too mant rabbits, catches none.

You are SO correct in “getting it going” and I must say also that you need to first pick one project and place your focus on that target without getting off on another sure thing. One rabbit, right? Right!

I can relate to this blog. For years (can’t believe it’s been close to 25) I help companies grow by connecting to an unmet need and developing new products or services. However, once you catch this bug it’s so hard to not be in this mode 24/7.

I call it “the art of thought.” Again however once you get into this mode it is very difficult to turn off.

I look forward to reading the book.

As always – you’re right on! This idea and that idea almost did me in. But! I didn’t want to forget those ideas. I have found an idea notebook works for me. When I get an idea for a new product I jot it down. When what I’m currently working on is “off the ground” I go to my ideas to see what is the next logical step.

Melanie Heywood February 4, 2008 at 11:02 am

Wow. This hit home with me in a big, scary way. Just this past weekend, I came up with another idea of something to add to my website. But…I also don’t necessarily think it’s a bad thing to come up with new ideas, particularly when you’re running a web-based business with no brick and mortar counterpart. Sometimes you have to be innovative to stay ahead of the competition.

I do agree that the focus needs to be there, and taking steps one at a time is necessary. I have some friends who never finish a single thing b/c their interest shifts to something else.

I would love to read the book, but afraid I won’t have the time to do it, yikes! If anyone is already reading it and having success, would love to hear from you.

You can find me at http://www.MyBizLoop.com, I’m the founder there.

Thanks!!
