When The Entrepreneur’s Curse Grabs You

by Mike Litman

Ideas almost destroyed me. They did.

“Mike, what are you talking about, I thought ideas are
always good?”

Amigo, interesting question.

Let’s keep going. Follow me here.

I used to think ideas were the greatest thing in the world.

Back when I first started my entrepreneurial journey, I
would have a new idea on a Monday, tell a few people.

Thursday, another idea would come to me.

A week later I came up with the ‘greatest idea ever’ in the
shower and told a few more people.

And on and on and on.

Ideas almost destroyed me.

“Mike, why?”

Another good question amigo.

Ideas were coming to me in an avalanche that I became the
most scattered person on the planet.

Completely scattered.

I was caught in the claws of what I call the ‘Idea
Avalanche’.

The ‘Idea Avalanche’ is the entrepreneur’s curse.

You have so many ideas and then you look back years later
and you’ve accomplished next to nothing.

What a waste. I wasted so much time.

Onward.

Ideas are neutral. They can be good or bad.

What raised me from failure to success wasn’t tons of
ideas, it was discovering how to focus and concentrate.

This wasn’t easy for me.

I see so many people getting beat up from a lack of focus.

They follow the ‘latest, greatest, gimmick’ and their
progress is in cement. It doesn’t move.

You, me, us, we’re better then that. Much better.

Find your focus. Take one step at a time. Just one.

You can do it. You know you can.

Stop being busy. Start being productive. You can do it.

The cure for the idea avalanche is to make a CONSCIOUS
attempt to bring 1% more focus and concentration into your
life daily.

My friend, I see you becoming a individual with laser like
focus.

I see you becoming an individual who can concentrate
incredibly.

Start now.

Love Ya! You’re The Best!

Your Coach,

Michael

Wow, that’s a good point.

Boy, I was just about to look into yet another training rather than buckle down and DO rather than LEARN. I have suffered from lack of focus the past 2 years and it has hurt me tremendously! Thanks very much for the gentle turning of my head back where it needs to be.

Dear Mike I too suffer from the curse as you call it,or atleast I did.Now I have One book for my focus project.I focus on the where ,what ,why ,and putting into action. That one% seems to start working for me in a geometric progression after a while,as good as compound interest.

WOW! This couldnt have come at a better time! I just got off the phone with a friend and I began our conversation with…I have another idea for a project to get going on. AUGH! Your right, all this buzzing in my head is making me more and more scattered! I am going to start with my best and most wanted goal and idea and push forward on that one. I think you need to add Mind Reading to your list of things you can do…

Mike,

Thank you so much for that. It really hit home. I suffer with this “curse” so often that it’s frightening. Thanks for the Wake Up Call!

Mike,

EXCELLENT point! So many people are so distracted by every influence coming their way. I have been there. That’s why I created my ACTION Planner and I now have over 600 people using it.

Yes sir! One word..ACTION, or better yet Inspired action. Something in the past has to have motivated you so much that you could not wait to take action.

Do that…take action! Awesome talk, thanks!

By the way, you were awesome at the Continuity Summit, and the book….so many Gems!

Thanks again.

Mike you are so wise, thank’s again. It is so hard to stay focused (there are so many possibilities, most of them are just waste of time and money) but it is possible and thank’s to you I did not waste again some time and money to see into something ‘more easy’ to do to earn ‘easy’ money.

Great post, I agree. I think a great addition that might help others would be learning how to outsource. It’s really helped my business. I found a free outsourcing mini coarse and I learned a lot from it. It’s amazing what you can do when you can hire someone for $4 per hour to help you run your business.
