It's just wrong.
"Mike, what is?"
Follow me here. (grab your favorite beverage)
This frustrates me greatly.
In my line of work, every year I see, talk to, or hear from
thousands of people looking to improve themselves.
Tens of thousands.
Though unfortunately there's something all too common I see.
"Mike, what is it?"
Lack of personal growth.
Let me say that again.
Lack of personal growth.
Too many people are letting years of their life go by and
they seem to be staying in the same place.
That's my observation.
Let me say this.
We were born with potential, what we do with it is up to us.
There's way too much potential sleeping in all of us. All of us.
There are books that need to be written, songs to be sung,
gardens to be developed, clothes to be made.
Get it going.
What happens if our potential and the gifts we were MEANT
to share never see the light of day?
When you look back at your life, how will you feel?
Get it going.
Stop letting months and years go by with little to no REAL
growth.
I believe you should be growing daily. Yes, DAILY.
Get it going.
Start ACTIVATING and releasing your potential.
You activate your potential through ACTION.
Action releases potential. Action releases your God given
gifts and talents.
Get it going.
We need to realize this.
We are all unique. No two humans are the same.
What that means is all us of have a UNIQUE GIFT that we
were born to share.
We have a unique gift that can solve a problem for someone.
Not everyone, someone.
When we solve that problem consistently we experience
greater meaning and financial success in our lives.
Get it going.
Perfection is a myth.
Get it going.
Action activates your potential.
How much of your potential will you use in -your- life?
Love Ya! You're The Best!
Your Coach,
Michael
P.S. The GREAT Cathi Watson shared this earlier on the
blog.
Hi Mike,
I had to smile, my book "The Elixir of Youth" Secrets of a
Spring Chicken-self-published was printed without proof
reading. I had to get it going, under the gun to present a
book review re: "The Elixir"…and after reviewing, not too
many corrections. I choose spiral as opposed to bound
cover, this way I can easily delete a page and add.

Cathi didn't wait to get it right, she just got it going.
Now, she's gaining momentum and doing great.

What a great post.
Thank you.
Without change there is only stagnation.
My trick is to boldly start going where I want to go and figure out the rest when I get there ... What a ride!

Wow! Awesome!
Mike, taking action has given me a new career I had only put on paper, and in my dreams. I am now booked as a Keynote Speaker! Before, I would have turned it down thinking I am an inspirational writer only, ha! But my writing is what got their attention: If I can read and write; surely I can speak about it. So, I got a Mic and AMP set up in front of a mirror...to practice. Life is good. I have purchased a domain name to be used for my speaking site; coming soon.
God Bless you!
Mike,
I can not concur more. My clients said…†you should write a book about what you know…marketing†yet I was so worried I would make a mistake I was in a holding pattern for close to a year. The voices from the past said I was poor at English, punctuation,…how could someone like me write?
Stuck in a perfection paralysis of sorts, I waited. So one day I sat down and wrote my book “Branding backwards†without a care for proper English and punctuation and so on. Recognizing the thought behind the content was me my value, I hired someone who had a core competency in editing.
In the last two months close to 2,000 people have downloaded my book from my web site and I am receiving requests for additional account specific help, speaking engagements and so on. This week a publisher contacted me and wants me to create a series of books with work shop books to compliment the content and help businesses grow.
If I would have waited for perfection….I would still be waiting.
Keep up the encouragement!
Thank you

Thank you for refering to God:ACTION RELEASES OUR GOD GIVEN GIFTS AND TALENTS.
Mike your right, there are potentials that we as humans are born with. We were predestined to be answers and helps to others as well as ourselves. Man has let himself down so many times it seems that he chooses not to get up, or don't want to get up. Then there are those who do not know what their talent or gift is. But one thing is for sure, with out the understanding of ones potential or their abilities lack of personal growth and motivation will not be present in them. I know for sure that when we realize the gift and the talent or potential (it's all the same) we can do great things and greater things in this life. I have gone from being stressed to stress free, from nothing to something, from down to becoming up. All this is from taking the resource of living to want to continue to live. Rather to make a living but just get to living. I find it a motivational tool to write and speak out for to those who need a little push every now and then. Keep up the good work my friend.
Mike,
Perfection is not only a myth, but trying to hang on to ANYTHING -- be it a corporate process/procedure, a work-out routine, an internet marketing method -- under the illusion that a state "perfection" has been reached is a death wish. When one operates under the fallacy of a state of perfection, the process of staleness and decay has already begun.
Actors (since coaching performers is my field) who seek that elusive state are missing the boat.
Living is a PROCESS. Performing a role -- night after night, week after week, months on end -- is an art IN PROCESS.
And although this is a statement I speak about and have included in more than one of my books geared for actors, it applies across the board: The actor's performance must live and breathe with the daily ups and downs experienced BY THAT ACTOR; the life of the individual actor must be brought on stage along with the life of the character, the role being (re)created.
Mike, you insights are invaluable. Keep 'em coming!

Thanks! I couldn't agree more. I especially liked being reminded that doing isn't always about perfect, but it is about learning and growing in many dimensions. E
Hi Mike... I also deal with people who want to get more out of life. As you say, we all have incredible potential locked inside us -- but no one can really get it out except us. Sometimes we use all kinds of excuses e.g. too busy, too many commitments, don't know what I want, or I'll do it tomorrow. And as you say, there is no growth.
Keep motivating and inspiring us!
Jeanne
Mike you are awesome. it took me 5years to learn that we should be living a life of substance and not settle for life of just existing. when i realised this philosophy of adding values to ourself. i have not just been successful personally and professionally i had also launch a non-profit organisation with a purpose of makng impact in other peoples life. Keep on the good works mike. http://www.apaau.org.
Hi Mike!
Thanks for caring enough to share with us. It is in giving that we receive, you must feel so fulfilled at the end of the day knowing that you are helping people to reach their potential. It's been exactly a week ago today that I heard you speak for the first time and I have not been the same since, it's so freeing to know that I don't have to get it right but that I need to get it going! I've accomplished so much this week by merely reciting this statement to myself and doing what I need to do!
I appreciate you so much!!!

Mike, I haven't had a chance to visit often. Arriving here tonight, I am edified. Thanks for this great community. It is an oasis. It is a safe haven. This is a remarkable accomplishment. Congratulations.
It's a great one. I knew how to activate my potential, but the problem i have is lack of action. I mean meaningful actions. I've grab my key to open the potential. I've never used it to open my deep self.
Hey Mike!
I've been telling everyone on the blogsphere you're my online mentor.
I've been telling everyone about "You don't have to get it right, you just have to get it going!'
I recently talked to Liz Strauss (the top blogger) about this on her No. 1 successful-blog.com

Mike, 100% spot on with this. You've touched on one of my own bug-bears here, although I think it's a symptom more than an epidemic in itself. We've got training that every child is put through that systematically teaches them the answers and goals lie outside themselves. It's taken me years to unlearn, and I'm still working on it!
Good to know that others see it too...

Today I am committing to the challenge of becoming complaint free - no moaning, whingeing or whining, no complaining, no criticising. The aim is 21days complaint free, as that is how long it takes to break a habit, and my, I'm discovering what a habit it is. Apparently it takes the average person 5-7 months to go the whole 21 days, wish me luck!
For anyone who wants to join in, see http://www.acomplaintfreeworld.org - over 4million participants so far
Love and luck to all,

Mike, What is personal growth? Is it something we learn or are we born with it? Do we wait for it or does it grow on us? I asked these questions because, we as humans imperfect as we are, many of us wait for somethings to come to us withour seeking for it or even asking for it. However, for me personal growth comes from learning and having a sense of understanding. My Growth grew up with me it was my closest and it was my best friend. My parents were great teachers and providers. I listened and obeyed them this gave me the reality that if we allow the world to be the leader of our life we lose, but if we listen to our Hearts which should be inline with our minds we can not go wrong. I am a spiritual man whose reasoning is of God. I look for the things of God in everything I do. Personal Growth is the measurement of character and our attributes which should give us the freedom from all negative actions that come against us. Our personal growth should be the enrichment of energy that is positive. Personal Growth is spiritual no human.
Dear Mike,
Your one of the winners in our world, thanks so much for your motivating inspirational words again I appreciate them immensely,
God bless and Positive vibes to you,
Dimitri.

Hey Mike,
Right on brother!
Personal Growth and ACTION! Are the keys to any real achievement. But the problem with most is that they are waiting for someone to come and wind them up to get them going.
You do a great job with that!
The real problem is that the people that keep coming back are still in the game. It's the people that don't even give personal growth a thought where most of the problems rise.

Your statement, "It doesn't have to be perfect - just get going" has been my catalyst for starting a new book on sales secrets. It is amazing how the words and ideas just flow and 4 pages later (yesterdays production) I am making steady progress. It is exciting to create content that is relevant and useful for so many. The book is the fruit of several years of research and personal growth pursuits. Send me an email if you would like to obtain a copy. jon@homeloanexpress.us
Mike,
I enjoy your thoughts and ideas a great deal. I know in my heart that all of us have a unique God given gift/potential that is designed to take us into meaningful places when developed and released. Further, I think that a critical element of developing that gift or talent is the reality that it is for others. As you put it, we have something within us for some one else. It is not simply for our own self-aggrandizement - it is only realized when released in order to help other people grow, heal, overcome, etc. I think that my waiting for perfection or the right circumstances (resources, contacts, sure things, etc.) has been a stumbling block to me because at its root was pride. Pride, in that I wanted to promote me - not help others. Pride in that I wanted the lights and glamour, not get down to where what I have been given can be released to help others - which in actuality is why (or at least is the noble 'why')we are here on this planet. It is not about me. Lives focused on self may amount to something, but they will never carry within the joy of helping to change other peoples lives for the better. I kind of think that if helping others is my true goal, I will release what I have been given without regard to perfection or proper resources, or even results since it won't be about me. Does that make sense?
Wow there have been some amazing responses to on this blog! It truly says that people are waking up, and they are seeking for more meaningful lives, filled with purpose and passion. If we can collectively continue to connect and share our thoughts, and feelings we will create a global virus, that will without doubt transform and awaken the lives of thousands, to find and begin to live their true purpose. You were so on point when you said, "Action releases potential. Action releases your God given gifts and talents". If we would all tap into our god given talents and gifts, we would stop creating wealth in the graveyards, which is where most people take their dreams. If only we dare to take the leap, and begin to live a purpose driven life. I once heard Action may not always bring happiness, but there is no happiness without action! Let's rise out of our comfort zones, and make our dreams a reality!!!
