Very insightful podcast. I thought I was focused on the reward, but now I'm not sure. Perhaps I am too focused on the process. I will make a “shift” in my thinking so 2010 and the years to come will ROCK!

excellent point… wish I could get the kid to pay attention to that point… all the wasted potential I see just because she doesn't want to put in a little effort.

Thanks Mike – you hit me where it hurts with this but I now see what I need to do more clearly than ever before. The next thing I will type after posting this is your three 3 step process on a 4 X 6 card to pin to my board in front of my desk and on my bathroon mirror so I see it every morning before my days starts. THANK YOU for sharing Mike. See you on tonights TC Huddle, my first by the way.

Great points, but are you sure your blood pressure is OK? :-) Thanks!

Thank you, thank you, thank you.. you could not be more right on this. If it is easy, everyone would be a world class musician, everyone would be a millionaire, and everyone would be successful. It takes work, and hard work, but the rewards are usually returned in great favor.

Charles Lazo December 22, 2009 at 4:52 pm

Jurgen, I know you said that facetiously, but there are ways to deal with stress. My favorite is meditation which I have been practicing for 37 years now. You can read about my method in an article I wrote and posted to my website: (See http://nowisforever.me/Pages/Meditation.html).

I have been trying to cope with procrastination for far longer. Mike's suggestions are particuarly apropos.

Mike,Absolutely.buy the ticket! get on the bus! maybe sit with the fat person !right life is not always easy but Life is always worth doing keep up the great work and Thank you from all of us out here in the process.

Marilyn R Williams December 22, 2009 at 6:22 pm

You are 100% right – I follow that process whenever I get to tasks I hate. Focus on the outcome.

It's also helpful for me to break the task down into small pieces.

Next time I'm at a stand still I'll think, “You are holding your Greatness hostage…stop it and just get going.”

What's strange is everyone always feels better after finishing a task, but we still procrastinate or do something less important.

Makes you wonder why we think we are the smartest animal on the planet….

Happy Holidays to All!!

Hi Mike,
When I listen to a teleconference call, I usually don't take notes. But, I took notes this time. The information you shared was too good not to write down. GREAT information to use everyday.
Thank you

Absolutely marvellous piece. Thank you. I realise that I was focussing on the process than on the reward.

Joyce December 22, 2009 at 9:24 pm

Fantastic Stuff Mike!! thankyou soooo much. I am blown away. I always knew that but by God am I going to DO IT NOW!!

Vision December 22, 2009 at 10:40 pm

Thanks Mike. I like your enthusiasm. I'll write it down and remember it.
1. Form a habit of doing what you don't like doing in order to be rich.
2. Focus on the rewards not the process.

great session I like what your telling the people keep preaching the word!!!

loisbrowne December 23, 2009 at 2:21 am

Clearly an essential comparison between 'greatness' and 'mediocrity,' that so many of us need to be reminded of. Another excellent formula to live by. Simple, but liberating. Thankyou for that, Mike L. But, be careful – your enthusiasm is likely contagious, and could start a dynamic movement of ambitious activity (positive) around the globe, never before witnessed. Well – off with the Old world, that's been heavily incapacitating so many souls, and on with the New provocative and inspirational one. Love your energy, Mike L., and love FinerMinds for exposing us to so many 'finer minds,' Happy Holidays, all ………….. L. Browne

Yes You are definitely wright. Sometimes people need to make inside motivation to see final reward.
Otherwise it can be failure each time they see the light at the end of a tunnel and then get the knowledge that this is just a train.

oumar December 23, 2009 at 4:34 am

Great. nothing but the truth. Many thanks.

seetharaman December 23, 2009 at 6:31 am

It is a very good prescription for eradicating procastrination. Excellent suggestion.

Maurice December 23, 2009 at 7:25 am

Mike

This is absolute dynamite. I'm heating up as I read this. This is the wake up call I need as I enter the new decade. Habits make futures….DYNAMITE.

Thanks for sharing

jeannie December 23, 2009 at 9:48 am

thanks so much! i'm a world class processor so i've become a world class procrastinator. i know the benefits but hate making that first move to reap the benefits. i will listen to this over & over to change my mindset to JUST DO IT!

johnmaneza December 23, 2009 at 10:17 am

Thanks Mike,
The track's message is wonderfully instrumental for financial guidance.

Sydney December 23, 2009 at 11:32 am

ROSIE December 23, 2009 at 1:32 pm

Excellent information!!!! THANK YOU.

Tracey December 23, 2009 at 2:12 pm

Mike that was good stuff. I am a procrastinator that does focus on the process. But for 2010 and beyond I will focus on the Reward and move into my next level of greatness in my career and my business. I'm a Strategic Marketer and this is a key message to becoming successful in all projects. I even see that my To-Do list is process driven. Thank you so much!
