Encouragement
----------------------
The fastest way to bring more and more great encouragers and
life-enlargers into your life is to FIRST encourage someone else.
Few ideas:
Smile at someone.
Tell someone "You're proud of them."
Say, "I love you."
Say, "I believe in you."
Say, "I appreciate you."
Lose yourself in other people and watch people enter your life and
push you forward.
You in?
If you'll COMMIT to encouraging at least ONE person in the next 24
hours, leave your comment below.
When we look for GOOD in others, we always find it.
When this becomes a HABIT in life, our happiness and success soars.
Be sincere. Be a life-enlarger. Bring more LOVERAGE into your life.
My friend, I am so EXCITED for you. Great opportunities and people
are about to enter your life in a meaningful way. Believe it.
If you're in, let us know in the comments below.
The thousands of people reading this right now believe in YOU.
They do. They see you as hopeful, optimistic, always EXPECTING the
best.
Change lives to change your own life.
Love Ya! You're The Best!
Your Coach,
Michael
P.S. Be a model of great living for generations in your family that
you'll never meet.

Hi Mike,
What a great idea - i'm certainly "up for it"...
After all as Aristotle said "You are what you repeatedly do. Excellence is not an event - it is a habit." - bring out the best in others and you bring it out in yourself!
All the best,
Steffan

I can attest that this is a great way to live! The more you encourage others, the better life is for everyone. I strive to send at least 3 handwritten notes per week to encourage someone around me. Sometimes it's a friend, a child's teacher, or a neighbor. Sometimes it's someone I don't even know personally, like an author whose work has touched my life, or someone I read of in the local paper. Regardless, being an encourager is a gift- we all should use it more! Thanks for spreading the word, Mike!
Thanks Mike! I just love this positive and simple style of yours. I've got a conference call with some of my members tonite, so I'll get some good opportunities to build others up!
Also, I'm still working my 30-day plan from the Continuity Summit! Thanks for the inspiration.
In all the way Mike!
Just wrote the introduction to my new book and within it, I said to the reader "I believe you"
someone about to take on the challenge of releasing 300 pounds HAS to know that someone believes in them to accomplish the task.
Just as I had a friend who coached me and lead me by the hand, and "believed in me"
Thanks Mike
Be the best you can be!!!!!!
I am IN! I am SO EXCITED to go out and get started!
Thanks Mike! This is a wonderful post and a great reminder how empowering a kind word can be. I do this naturally with my children and it makes a world of difference with them. In fact, who couldn't use to hear an encouragement or that they are appreciated. It does makes life more enjoyable to know we are around people who love and support us. Thanks again and keep up the good work.
Best regards,
Lynn
I think this is a great habit to have. I have encourage others, I committed to do this everyday, starting with my children. Thanks!!!
When you speak of failure, you attract failure; when you speak of success, you attract success!
As usual Mike, bang on the button.
The whole reason you have to write this post is because we all forget so easily... so I will write it on my hand to make sure
Mike,
I always tell people..."If you want something you've never had, You have to do something you've never done. You're a great person and you deserve GREATNESS...so go do something great" and as you say (and me too) you don't have to get it right, you just have to get it going!
Thanks for your encouragement!
Wonderful post. It is so easy to withdraw inwardly in tough times. So much better to expand and share love and power. I hereby commit!
I'm not sure if you got my last comment and apologize if you did, but I really liked your simple idea of saying or doing one nice thing every day to someone. In our busy lives, we tend to forget that everyone has problems, and a kind word or gesture can go a long way to brighten someone's day. It can take so little to help another person feel better, and isn't that what life is all about . . .. helping other people. If we only help ourselves, we are not going to experience a very satisfying life. I get a better feeling when I give than when I receive something. Giving someone hope or anything that will brighten their lives is something that
we can do every day, many times a day. Even though we all are busy, all you have is today. Yesterday is gone, and tomorrow is not guaranteed, so live for TODAY and be the best that you can be no matter what you are going through as life has a way of rewarding those that are generous. You're either a "giver" or a "taker," and to find true success in life, you need to be a giver, as in the big circle of life, your giving will eventually come back to you ten fold.
Warmly,
Corinne Larimore
I will encourage both of my kids!
that is so true mike..and ive been planting smiles on peoples faces for about a year now..im 19 and come from Nepal..
Mike,
I enjoyed this post and I WILL commit to being the source of encouragement for at least one other person in the next 24 hrs. I'm usually very positive and optimistic toward other people but I've admittedly been allowing some of my own negative life circumstances lately to affect my attitude and behavior. I will turn that around beginning tomorrow (or maybe even tonight?). Thank you,
Darlene
Thank you Mike! Thank you for all your encouraging and motivating words!
I am always encouraging others, that is the way to go
What a great idea. I'm in.
An experiment I tried recently and now made a habit is smiling at people in other vehicles while we're stopped in traffic. It cracks me up how often they looked surprised--even shocked!--but I always get a smile back. What a great return on investment!!!
I'm IN Mike! I worked 32 years for a company that didn't do this. Now I work for one that encourages and uplifts it's people. In fact, our motto is "enriching the lives of women". Wow, what a difference! You're the best:)

I live and breathe by the following quote:
"That which we do to help others succeed, aids our own success." ~Harold Washington, May 1983
Visualize your success. See it in bright vivid colors. See yourself accomplishing your goals and reaching your targets! You can do it!
I'm into it all the way. I think I'll go start with my wife and kids! Then I'll hit it on twiitttter, and then I'll take it to work with me tomorrow.
I'm in!
This is great and I'd like to share one of my favorite quotes of encouragement with you!
“Flatter me, and I may not believe you.
Criticize me, and I may not like you.
Ignore me, and I may not forgive you.
Encourage me, and I will not forget you.
Love me and I may be forced to love you.â€
William Arthur Ward
I am committed to being positive and I have already started to encourage others. The "way to go" "you're doing it" and "you are beautiful" came out of my mouth just this morning. Thank you for your encouragement-it is being passed on with entheusiasm.
Love it. We find what we are looking for, why not look for the best in other as we just might find the best in ourselves.
I'll start with, "I appreciate YOU, Mike!"
Truly - I find every communication from you to be uplifting, encouraging, and often challenging. =)
You make a difference in my life, in a very positive way, and I in turn choose to share that with others.
Thank you,
Kate
Count me in...great post.

You're a great guy!
Thank You Mike for your weekly encouraging words.
I try very hard to smile at people in the street and it is remarkable how many smile or just to say hello.
sometimes We ourselves need that encouragement, so to do it for others and get it in return is such encouragement for ourselves.
LOVE YOU MIKE AND THE INSPIRATION YOU GIVE TO ME WEEKLY, THANK YOU Louise
I'm in MIke. I always enjoy reading your encouraging thoughts & how we can ACT TODAY!!!
Thanks
Your Friend
Rob
I believe in what you are saying. I will commit to encouraging one person in the next 24 hours and will go farther than that...I will commit to encouraging at least one person every day as I know that will make a difference in people's lives.
Remember, personal growth is the key to success, not only in the learning but also in the implementing!

I love your message, Mike. No matter what, the key is to take action - whether issuing encouragement or making a huge change in your life. NOTHING WILL HAPPEN UNLESS YOU JUST DO IT. If you have a deep sense of what you want (career, personal, whatever), trust yourself and do it. Jump the cliff and soar into a new life of wonderful things.
Hi Mike!
Thanks for another great post! I really admire your positive attitude towards everything! You help a lot of people and in return you reap what you have sown!
As said in the Bible-:
"What you sow, you reap!" You want to see everybody succeed in life and you are now a success yourself!
More power to you!!
Hi Mike..My name is Wuriawan Saputra from Indonesia.. Thanks for your encouraging email....
I am helping my brothers finishing their studies in college. I hope next year the older one will have finished his studies, and the younger one will start his studies in College in Oktober...I beleive that if I help others reach their goals, GOD will help me reach my goals.....I realize it is true and I experience it....I have reached many goals in my life and I surely will reach more and more if I help others reach their goals.....Thanks again Mike...Love Ya..
Hi Mike,
Your post reminded me of the principle "Give and it will be given to you, good measure, pressed down, will be poured into your lap. For in the measure you give, it will be given to you".
Helping others grow helps us to grow.

I am most definately in! I truly believe if each one of us do this at least once a day, we can have a dramatic change in our communities - plus the world at large. Go guyz go!!!!
Even though I feel so so alone nearly all of my life I will try this.
Just for today ..and see
I thank you for the encouragement and plan to make this a daily practice, a daily habit.
Yes that was a great reminder of how we can make a difference to others. Encouragement can be very powerful. I am a great fan of yours and listen to your CD every day on the way to work. By applying the principles I now lead an amazing life. I can never thank you enough!ges
I did it, just before I read your letter. I encouraged a young girl who just started her career as a linquist. A small step, but it means a lot to her.
I always ask myself why so many people revert to me on the street, or some public place asking for simple things like how to find some other street or place or something quite ordinary. I'm always ready to help so people must recognize that.
Mike thanks for your encouraging words.
Zoe
Hi Mike

Hi Mike,
Thanks for reminding me that it is the things we do and say to others that really count. I will spread encouragement today!
I agree with you about the positive impact of encouraging words on a persons life, I have been on the receiving end at times and it feels great. I'm in, I would like to share the good feeling. Thanks.
I'm in! What a great reminder of how powerful our words and actions can be. I continue to encourage my kids, but the reminder to do this daily is great!

Mike:
Each day I awake with the understanding that Life is Good and to pass on to everyone I meet. Be it a smile or a helping hand. Simple ordinary things bring wealth into my life.

C'mon, you shy lurker, you have just the words we need; join in.
Once we commit to doing this it will soon grow from becoming the most important part of our day into our whole day. Believe that this won't spread without you !!Always grateful for your words Mike. Thanks !
To Andy of England - and anybody else who could use it:
Lyrics from a song I love:
You're not alone
Even though right now you're on your own
You're loved in ways that can't be shown
Your needs are known
You're not alone
And when you cry
You're just letting go a heartache deep inside
But tomorrow there'll be sunshine and sky
And love close by
You're not alone.
And I know that it's not easy
But I know that it won't last
'Cause one who loves you more than me
Is sending blessings fast.
You're not alone
Say it one more time
I'm not alone
Even when it's hard to find the words
You're always heard
You're not alone.
May you create a wonderful day!
Margaret Ida
I am definitely IN-- when anyone touches my heart, my life in a positive way, I always let them know the impact they have on my life. There is too much ugliness directed at people in the world, so I do whatever I can to change that and bring something positive to others.
Always smile, always say thank you, be kind, unwind. Love is the best answer and God will watch over you. To Andy of England... If you feel so alone, there are many people in the world who would like to spend time with you. Call them, email them , talk to them. People will make us happy, and so will the Lord... Love you all Bill, Whittier, CA
i am in!
Thank you for the encouragement. I will make it a point to start today.
Hi Mike, You're absolutely right about encouraging others and what a difference it makes in their lives and in turn, in your own life. Have you seen this video about validation? I'm sure you probably have. It's my absolute favorite! I watch it regularly and share it with others on my MySpace and through email. It's a fabulous reminder and makes you feel great to watch it.
You know I'm in!
~ Meaza
Hi Michael,
May 31, 2009
Wonderful words of encouragement. I did bring some light into a friend today, your one word. If I reach out and help someone else, it becomes reciprocal.
Hope you have a wonderful day. Thanks.
Cordially,
Eleanor
A smile or an encouraging word to someone makes that person feel great. Something else, too, it makes me feel great. It always puts a smile on my face.
Mike,
It's my believe U will completely change my life.
your words sound nice encourage me!thank U.
Mebrahtu,
This is true. Life is full of reward - whatever you give, you will get more of it back. The force of attraction is real. Jesus Christ taught it and He cannot lie.
I am blessed with it.
Mike thanks a lot for strenghten me to continue. I will like to add something that help a lot.- calling people by their first name or family name they like associating with.
Emmanuel

Thanks Mike. YOU my friend, are the Best!
I will have to say that when I read your encouragement, you always manage to make it feel like you are speaking directly to ME.
Though I did encourage someone earlier today (it's a great feeling) I am going to try to think of someone else to encourage as a response to your email. Thanks.

Reading the various posts reminded me of something I read many years ago which resonates in me still--
"I looked for myself and found nothing.
I searched for God, but He eluded me.
I sought out my brother and found all three."
Thank you for encouraging us to encourage and uplift others.
: ) Warmest,
Kim
I'm all in. Thanks for the encouraging word "Encouragement". I'm all ready to encourage others and be encouraged myself!
Hello Mike,
Excellent perspective, Count me in!!!. The mind is a intersting place to conciously explore. My favorite saying use to be " I can't stand drama but if drama finds me I'm all in". My life became a series of dramatical situations.
Thank you for your consistent and encouraging emails. You're the greatest!, coach.
Love ya back,
RG
Mike, I couldn't agree with you more. I share your mission -- to help bring out the best in people so that they enjoy their lives to the fullest. I believe, as you do, that's a win win -- the happier you help people become, the happier you become. Warm regards, David
The best way to beat life hands down and get to the top is to remain unperturbed in your mind and your whole life will be controlled from intruders that come to get you worried, worked up and discourage. What enter your mind matters, so guide your mind. Also give a smile to every thing you do not understand and which may want to distract you,t while you calmly seek a solution to it. Thank you
what a fantastic site i am forwarding it on to all my downline and my wife
Yes Mike
I am certainly up to it.
This is my daily mission,to uplift and encourage others to make their day a better one.
I PROMISE TO THINK ONLY OF THE BEST, TO WORK FOR THE BEST, AND EXPECT ONLY THE BEST.
You are such a great coach Mr L - giving us such easy things to do. - just 1 person - I know 3 lives I can touch immediately and then I'm going to reach out to others that I might not have thought of without your guidance. Many many thanks.
You can't give what you don't have... Fill yourself to overflowing with motivational, positive, life changing, uplifting CD's, DVD's, Books... To the point you are full to overflowing then watch it began to spill over onto the people you encounter daily, friends, family and the ones you love.
Hi Mike, I can say, I really appreciate you!!! Sincerely.
I have full reality on the power of ADMIRATION towards others, focusing on their plus points. I have done that and do that regularly, and you are right it must be done much more.
Thanks to remind me this mission!
Have a great day!
Each one of us is given a gift. It is up to us to discover that gift, explore it, use it and share it with others. Whatever that maybe, it doesn't make us any lesser or shorter of what that gift we may possess if we gave it away. It is just so easy and very affordable whichever way you turn to and be a part of that something or someone just because you have given them an upliftment or an encouragement that they would treasure and remember.
More importantly, more joy and compassion developed within you. You feel enlightened, more hopeful and understand more of the human existence. Great is the person who sees a need and just be brave enough to go forward to answer that need. Even greater is for the same person to continue to improve himself for his own betterment so he can continue to change to a higher realm. And the greatest of all is for the same man who is willing to be a committed protege to be a constant learner and teachable enough to listen, take action and follow his mentor so he can be an inspiration to those who are following him.
Life is a choice. People will discredit you, criticize you, complain about you, condemn you or judge you. But it is still up to us to make our own choices and claim our own destiny for in every choice we make there is an end result. That result, if we so choose, can lead in life enhancing value for others as well as for ourselves.
I have friends from all walks of life. Very many are very different from me. But we trust each other and appreciate each other's varied qualities in a profound manner. And we really have a very interesting and optimistic life. It is the love of my varied friends that helps me do my research work in Mathematics.
I'm in for encouraging minimum of one plus whoever else I meet
Awesome!! I encourage my 7th and 8th graders every day. I write on their papers how much I appreciate them so this was great confirmation I' doing the right thing!!
I love that idea and having already been doing that and yes, people are excited to greet me at work. You have encouraged me to increase what I have already been doing. I was wondering if I was making a difference but you have convinced me, that I am on the right track. I really need great opportunities and people to enter my life in a meaningful way. Thanks, Fred Robinson
A sharing heart is a caring heart. Thank you for sharing!
I believe this way of thinking because it works. When I am enthusiastic my team is too. When I let someone know how proud I am of them it makes them shine. Thank you so much for the confirmation I was needing today.
Who can deny themselves the joy of appreciation on the other person's face when you make their day by what you have just said? I never let an occasion go by to thank or praise or just comment on positive changes. That is thanks to a wonderful teacher I had in high school who taught: 'sticks and stones can hurt my bones, but WORDS can break my heart'
Blessings to you for teaching this principle.
great principle, i'm in all the way...
I like it! What goes around, comes around........... Great thinking Mike ...... Law of attraction working again... You know how to inspire people...... I'll keep the ball rolling...........
"Never believe that a few caring people can't change the world. For, indeed, they are the only ones who ever have." Margaret Mead
Namaste
Hey Mike,
It's a rare day that I do not give more than one person an encouraging word. I feel that I should do more for people. I want to take it to the next level and I'm thinking about becoming a life success coach. Thanks for the encouraging email.
Dear Mike,
You're absolutely right!! "When we look for good in others, we always find it". The bottom line is, there is always something good in everybody. Everybody! Because we are all children of God and God is good, so we are all good! It is only when we forget that we are all One that we commit some errors in our life. Let us not forget that what we sow, we reap. So let us sow good deeds and good things will come back to us. Thanks for all your good thoughts!
I'm "in". I don't need convincing. My life is a testimony of this principle. The more I harp on what I lack, in health, finance, anything at all, the more I remain in that depraved state. The more I give of myself to others in the way of encouragement and optimism, the more my own life shines. But I need to fully grasp this and believe that disappointments and "failure" can be turned on its head if I can perceive them for what they actually are. I'm too often consumed with grief when I'm not moving in the direction I want to move, and that grief is often stifling.
Thank you for this Mike. I believe in YOU!!!
I encourage everyone to make their life a masterpiece and to support all around you to do the same.
It's interesting to know that some of the greatest and successful people have been saying that all along. for instance, Tony Robbins started his huge change by deciding to give to the poor, moves with a feeling of love and compassion. He said that every Thanksgiving he would buy food for poor families and deliver it himself! What you give you receive, and more. I made it a habit to give to the poor, charities, etc. and my life has been changing and improving.
Always good to read your posts!
Success to all!
Thank you I am studing to be a Personal Trainer This could help me a lot.
Hi Mike,
I'm ready to be successful; investing my skills, talents and time into people's lives.
Thanks for the reminder to encourage other people, it certainly makes the difference
cheers

I believe in both of my daughters. They both are very committed to their interests. I'm very proud of them and greatly appreciate their affection! I'll commit to encourage them in the next 24 hours. I haven't done it enough recently and it's time that I do.
Hi Mike - I appreciate your encouraging e-mails and am definitely passing it on by helping a
co-worker with huge problems. It's funny how all that works. By my encouraging this person
with some of the small things she's facing, she came to me for help with the big stuff. With
this e-mail, I'll know more how to help her.
I am all for this Mike.I want to encourage a person to move forward
All people need encouragement to achieve success in their life
Thankyou
I think this is a great initiative. Times a tough and pepole generraly have nothing to give as they focus on their own problems. I will definately go out and make a difference in somebody else's life. Thanks for the great suggestion.
i'm in
Hi Micheal,
You are perfectly right because, the more you share what you know with others the more you learn from them also. Whatever you have for me I am prepared for. thamks you are Great. From Emml
Thanks for reminding me that what i am already doing on a regular base is actually a lifechanging experience. I'll keep up with the motivation. The one thing I am going to say more often is to my wife of 7seven years - I LOVE YOU AND YOU STILL LOOK BEAUTIFUL TO ME
I will encourage at least one person in the next 24 hours
Mike,
I'm in. You are an inspiration. Thanks for keeping us all on the right path.
This is blessed.
I'm going to start at home with my wife and kids. Great suggestion, thanks.
Everyday is an exciting day to encourage someone and bring joy to their life. I sing in a group called The Love Notes that goes to Nursing Homes and Assisted Living Facilities and other senior facilities every Monday and Tuesday of every week year round in St Petersburg, Fl.. We not only sing extremely happy upbeat music we intreract with everyone there mixing, mingling, hands on hugs and interaction that is just beyond words it is a fun party we throw and we have had the greatest of success. I have been to every party for the the last year and a half and have no intention of ever missing the joy that I receive from these lovey wonderful people.
I am a believer and will encourage at least one people each day this week. Thank you for the opportunity to share. I appreciate you Mike Litman. Have a blessed day.
Mike,
This is so true. Whenever I catch myself continuing to think negative thoughts about say a family member (after a disagreement or bad experience) then I concentrate on the positive qualities. This helps me get out of my negativity. So, taking that extra step and telling them something positive will help more.
As I was growing up in a poooor family my father always gave me hope that I could do anything great if it was for the good of all and invest in Real Estate.
My mother just wanted ... clean, no back talk and marry and give her grandchildren.
Both were great to have as parents.
Where am I now. ..... Just were I am suppose to be but always looking to do better
Love your encouragements.
Yes, Mike,
I agree with you. 101%. Count me in. I am up for being an encourager. I know this works. We all have something to give. Words are magic.Walk in Blessedness.
Speak soon,
Ralph
Thanks Mike. Your efforts and sincere words of encouragement are appreciated and thought of as the positive stuff I and others need to help move us forward.
You don't know me, but I know about your good heart and desire to help possibilities like me. Sure I may be a person of fake desires who may or may not ever amount to the potential that's inside my head, but I know that the message you're discussing today is one of the most powerful that could ever be offered. I'm sure that anyone who understands what you are saying can certainly empathize with the regret that someone did not deliver a voice of complimentary encouragement or prophesy about a talent or quality that I/we had in my/our childhood or teenage years, 20s, 30s or older than that. Just a word that recognized my/our ability to draw, paint, write, fix things, or my interest in engineering or law or medicine...whatever. That one expression from an adult or respected peer or professional may have launched a valuable career. Instead, you've just got a person that fluounders from here to there and back, never achieving the great success and passion that might have been.
So, encouragement could truly mean the difference between a life of greatness or just average. A few seconds to say or write a few words of encouragement to recognize and shine a brief spotlight of power propelling e-power and a person might be shot into the world they dream about.
Did you thank God today? (Above is taken from my unfinished book)
I dont need to think again; of course am in
I'm in...ready for an opportunity to bring a smile to someone's heart that will show up on their face!
Hi! Mike, Thanks for the encouragement. I used to be too shy to talk to people but now I share hugs, smiles, and encouragement and it brings great joy to ME!
And let us not forget to start the day by encouraging that special person in the mirror each morning.... we are all number 1 to ourselves. That way we are full and can then overflow to others!!
I am in, not only in the next 24 hours, i'll make it a habit.
Thank you Mike
Nada
Thanks ; sure i make the commitment to encourage one new person every 24 hours.
Thank you Mike. Yes, I do it also especially to my children and nephews and nieces. Sometimes I forwarded some inspiring email to my loved ones and friends. God's love should always reign in the hearts of everyone. Continue the good work. God be with you always.
Adrian
Good idea! I will encourage 2 people today - 2 who cannot knowingly benefit me in any way. I will try to get myself off my mind!
I am in total agreement with that. I am so proud that more people think like that. We are blessed by that one word.
So good, so true!

When we appreciate others and dshow gratitude, the Universe returns that favor to us! I will be spedning the weekend with my extended family and this has not always been a pattern for us, especially in the older generation. I am trying to change that one kindness at a time.
Have a great day!
