It surprises me how many people don't take this piece of
success advice. It truly does.
I've been saying it for years, but forget about me.
Success literature for centuries has been saying the same
thing.
For centuries.
Yes, some people 'get it', though many don't. It's
frustrating.
"Mike, what piece of success advice is this?"
Hold on amigo. We'll get to it in a second.
Let's go here first.
To me, increasing your self-esteem is one of the keys to
successful living.
Feeling good about yourself is everything. Many people have
had their self's beaten up. Taking time to help your SELF is
time well spent.
Very well spent.
The history of success literature all agrees on this point.
From King Solomon, to Ralph Waldo Emerson, to James Allen, to
Napoleon Hill, to Earl Nightingale, and on and on, they all
agree on this main point.
I'll make this point by quoting James Allen 100 years ago.
"So long as you persist in selfishly seeking for your own
personal happiness, so long will happiness elude you and you
will be sowing the seeds of wretchedness. Insofar as you
succeed in losing yourself in the service of others, in that
measure will happiness come to you, and you will reap a
harvest of bliss.
Nature teaches us we have to PLANT before we create the
HARVEST.
We have to give before we get.
We have to. This is the law. This is the principle.
I've said this hundreds of times, if you want someone to
enter your life and help you, help someone else FIRST.
Give away what you want more of.
I always want the next ideas I need to grow, so here's what I
do.
I GIVE AWAY my current level of knowledge.
What you do for others, the Universe/Creator does for you.
Emerson spoke about this in the 1800's, he called it the 'Law
of Compensation'.
Most people HOLD ONTO everything so tight.
Here's why I brought up the importance of your self-esteem
earlier.
I've found that the lower our self-esteem, the more self
absorbed and hoarding we tend to get.
Take the focus OFF YOURSELF.
Start being a vessel for the circulation of value.
Share books that have helped you, share people that have
helped you.
Become a walking, talking, engine of value for others.
Teach what you most want to learn.
Work the law of compensation.
We'll reap what we sow. Sow seeds of success and
encouragement in other's lives.
Sow finances into people or organizations who need it.
The really exciting part about this law is that what we give
comes back to us MULTIPLIED.
Just like the seed the farmer plants.
Napoleon Hill called it the 'law of increasing returns'.
What leaves our hand, doesn't leave our life, instead it
comes back multiplied.
You're reading this because you have a strong desire to grow
and unleash your greatness.
Look at hundreds of years of success literature. It's talking
to you today, take its advice.
You'll be happy you did.

I agree... the email came at a great time! Very uplifting! You're terrific!
Thanks so much, Julie
Very interesting!
Mike ~ Your enlightened thoughts lift self esteem - you have a wonderful way with words. This message is very profound. Keep Rockin' with Passion!
You know what Mike? This is probably the most important thing you can learn as a human being. It is so true and priceless. Too many people focus on themselves where we need to put the attention on other people. This is great because I used to see the opposite in myself in the past. Thanks Mike you are a true inspiration!
Mike, these are some of the most essential success principles in all of human wisdom. Thank you for the reminder. I know it can be difficult, but, when suffering financially, that is the time to begin priming the financial well pump with systematic giving.
Absolutely excellent posting - interestingly the happiest people I have met are my fellow Rotarians that is the ones who are there for the good they do - thanks for the great work you do Mike, from sunny 29 degrees, Northern Beaches, Sydney Australia
Great advice, Mike. "As ye sow, so shall ye reap." The message has been given over and over, but too many people just don't want to listen. Here's to helping others reach their success.
That's right Mike, just keep on giving us all of the good stuck that work.
Thanks,
Shirley
Again - you've made my day. Have found that when I hold back, things stagnate. When I share, the floweerfs blossom.
Thanks, Mike
Mike, this is a very good message to remind us of the basic teachings of the great leaders in the past.
Thanks,

I go to a local gym regularly and I often help people with new ways of doing things or new ways of thinking about how to work-out that will take less time with great results....nothing is more satisfying than a person who I have shared information with telling me that they applied what I told them and they are seeing the results...great stuff!

Mike,
Its something great. Small principle, big benefits. But many people dont feel this small principle, a difficult one to follow, since we have not followed it for years. Good things become tough for us, since we have been practising negative things for years together. Lets me try following it from now onwards, Mike. Thanks for the peice of advice and best suggestion.
Cheers,
A.Balaji
THANK YOU FOR THIS POWERFUL LESSON ABOUT SOWING. NO EXCUSES IN '08 FOR NOT MOVING FORWARD. AS I QUEST TO MASTER MONEY, I LOOK FORWARD TO SURROUNDING MYSELF WITH GREAT LEADERS TO LEARN FROM. AS YOU SHARE YOUR WISDOM WITH US, I TOO LOOK FORWARD TO EMPOWERING OTHER'S THANK YOU AGAIN. MINISTER STACEY NEAL
Just this morning I passed the title of a Dale Carnegie book to a guest at my breakfast networking meeting. It gives me great joy to share with others in this way.
These days, though, I check first whether or not the person likes to read - I have 'rushed in' so many times before, purely out of my desire to be helpful but have met with resistence. I think perhaps that some people thought I was trying to 'fix' them ! I really relate to this quote:
" Developing yourself is the best marketing investment you can make"
C.J. Hayden ["Get Clients Now"]
This is also a fabulous book [do you like to read books?] it is a 28 day programme to get more clients for your business. It takes you day by day through all of the steps needed, depending on the stage you business is at. It will really get you taking consistent and persistent action.
cheers! Carole
This is wonderful piece, since the begining of this year your message is the reason why I opened my mail. May God bless you.

Thanks Mike for your timely advice to keep me on the path to greatness through service to others.
Mike this is my first time to comment, your encouragement is a blessing to us who daily seek to grow ourselves. Through your encouragement of me I encourage others through my blog, http://grantzjones.blogspot.com/. Mike keep up the good job. Thanks
Thanks Mike for the reminder... this is a year I intend to "turn it around" and as I focus on what I have to do to do that, it's easy to become self focused. So, your insightful message is both timely and refreshing. Thanks again.
Hello Mike,
I couldn't agree with you more. It's also pertinent that we understand giving is not just about tangible things. You could give the gift of a smile, your time, your knowledge (like you said before.) You could even choose to be friendlier to people you meet everyday, especially strangers.
Since I made it a mantra to finish my every "hello" with a genuine "how are you today?" people seemingly like me more (even people I thought despised me.) Like an epiphany, I have come to realise that when you become genuinely interested in others, people become interested in you.
Call it karma, call it the law of the universe, I am just telling it like it is!
Thanks for bringing that to everyone's attention.
I completely agree with you Michael
The giving needs to be done from your heart... not with the intention of what I will get in return. Giving from your heart does wonders for your self-esteem.

mike you have really inspired me,anytime i read your mail, i alway want to take action, 1 love, henry ogedegbe, warri, Nigeria
Hi Mike,
What we sow, we reap. Wonderful. The hands that give are holier than the hands that pray. We should not allow the left hand aware what the right hand gives away bcos the mind is such powerful it may give orders for the left hand to stop giving.
I am loving truly all your articles ya! V.K.Subbramanian
If everyone could read the works of James Allen, and then understand that mindset, "what a difference it would make." Thanks for all of your efforts at unleashing the greatness in us all. Peace.
Thanks,Mike. This will help me a lot.
Mike, BE, then DO, then HAVE. That is formula for creating. If we want to get rich, we must BE rich first. Then we will DO what rich people do, and then we will HAVE what rich people have. As with seeds, we already have all we need to create all we want. We are already rich and now we can get richer!
Give me 10 corn seeds and in a couple of years I could have enough seed to plant hundreds of acres of corn! Appreciate what you have. That is all you can use to create more!
mike, thanks for the wisdom and inspiration of your messages.your the best.
