Wasting Your Potential Is Wrong

Motivation, Success No Comments »

Wasting potential.

Wasting our skills.

Wasting our passion.

How many millions of people put a piece of big, fat duct tape
around their goals and never let them see the LIGHT of day.

What a waste.

I can be MORE.

You can be MORE.

Life is about growth. There’s just no staying still.

We’re moving backward or forward all the time.

Make sense?

Great.

Onward.

In Chapter 1 of my #1 best-selling book ‘Conversations with
Millionaires’, I interviewed the GREAT Jim Rohn. Jim has been
helping people for decades as he was also Tony Robbin’s 1st
mentor.

I want to share with you an excerpt from my interview because
you’ll find it very helpful.

Mike:

We want to reach our goals. But, more importantly, Jim, can
you talk about the power in the being and the becoming?

Jim:

Well, true. What we acquire of course is valuable. But, the
greatest value is not what we acquire. The greatest value is
what we become.

My mentor had an interesting way of teaching it, When I was
25 years old he said, “I suggest, Mr. Rohn, that you set a
goal to become a millionaire.”

I was all intrigued by that. You know, it’s got a nice ring
to it - millionaire.

Then he said, “here’s why…”I thought to myself, ‘gosh, he
doesn’t need to teach me why. Wouldn’t it be great to have a
million dollars.’

Loverage - Apply This Today

Motivation, Success No Comments »

You know what time it is?

Exactly, it’s time to shake’ and bake’!

Onward.

6 years ago, after years of struggling I started to
experience success in my business.

My book ‘Conversations with Millionaires’ was changing lives
and my business was profitable. I wasn’t ready to buy an
island, but things were moving forward in a good way.

At the time I asked myself, “How did I get to this point?
What was I now doing differently?”

Now only did I trace my success then back to a principle, I
also coined a word in the process.

Not only was this the defining concept of my early success it
is now the driving catalyst in my life and business. Now more
than ever.

“Mike, I’m in, let’s keep going.”

You got it.

The defining MANTRA of my business and the word I coined is
LOVERAGE.

Say it out loud. (L-O-V-E-R-A-G-E)

Loverage: using love and leverage to help others help you.

While I might have coined a word, the principle I’ve tapped
into is the visible, but invisible, thread of success and
happiness that’s been trying to help humanity throughout the
ages.

Unfortunately, most haven’t cared to listen or really HEAR.

I’ve built my career on GOING FIRST.

Rachel Ray, Leo, And You - Read Today

Motivation, Success No Comments »

It’s Thursday AM, 8:45 EST, and I’ve spent the last 30 minutes channel surfing before I head to the beach (Eastern Long Island).

Let me share with you a few things you can USE to start shakin’ and bakin’ at a whole new level.

Are you ready or really ready?

First off, flipping through the TV I came across Rachel Ray’s 30 Minute Meals. Put what she was cooking aside for a second (it looked great).

Here’s what I saw.

PASSION. It just flies through the TV.

Rachel Ray LOVES what she does.

Do you know Rachel Ray had a public access cooking show for
3 years or so and made pennies if anything?

Talk about not getting it right and just getting it going.

LOVE. (remember this for a second).

Rachel’s show was done. I surfed around and saw an interview with actor Leonardo DeCaprio.

Many observers consider Leo to be one of the greatest actors of his generation.

Follow me here.

So Leo is being interviewed. The interviewer says you have many influential friends, ever thought about running for political office.

He stops for a second.

Thinks and says.

This ‘Word’ Leads To Success

Motivation, Success 1 Comment »

I can’t prove this, but my educated guess is this is the most
popular word in the world.

“Interesting Mike, what is it?”

Before I share it with you, let me say this.

If I look to decode the successes I’ve had, I can trace them
all back to a powerful principle.

Simple, but powerful.

The easiest and I bet most popular word spoken in the world
is “No.”

This is the popular word of the 98%.

Back when I was struggling, I used this word too much.

Way too much. It was like my best friend.

But then something happened.

And everything changed.

From my book ‘Conversations with Millionaires’ becoming a
#1 best-seller to the success of my business it all traces
back to this principle.

Hold on, I’m not the only one who’s tapped into it.

Tiger Woods.

Roger Federer

Oprah.

Spielberg.

And many others have as well.

Here it is.

***Greatness Starts By Saying YES to An Opportunity.

Let me say it again.

***Greatness Starts By Saying YES to An Opportunity.

98% of the world is inclined to say “No.”

The 2% say “YES” more often.

Sitting on the sidelines.

Waiting. Waiting. Waiting.

Millions of people are doing this today. Millions.

I used to do this as well. For 7 years.

Let me share with you an idea today that if you CAPTURE can
radically, radically change your life. And fast. Very.

Back in 1998, I was 24 years old and I hosted a success radio
show. My radio show has 3 listeners, 2 of them were my
parents.

If you saw my website back then, here was the headline,
‘World’s
#1 Personal Development Radio Show’.

I didn’t say I had the most listeners, though I believed I
had the most valuable, life changing radio show on the air
today.

“Mike, interesting, why are you telling me this story today?”

Good question amigo.

I’m telling you this because this is one of many examples I
can give to you that is revealing a powerful success
principle.

One more for today.

Was famous boxer Mohammed Ali telling everyone he was the
‘Greatest’ before he became the best in the world?

Yes, he was.

Too many people today are waiting for someone to tap them on
the shoulder and say, “You’re ready to leave the sidelines
and enter the game. Your time is now.”

In my experience, the game of success doesn’t work that way.

Say Goodbye To Mediocrity

Motivation, Success 35 Comments »

“You weren’t born to be in this room tonight.”

I said this to the audience of 200 people at a talk I did 2
weeks ago.

There was a few seconds of silence.

Many people starting shaking their heads up and down,
signaling “You’re right.”

“Mike, why did you say this to the audience?”

Good question amigo.

Throughout the night, many individuals were sharing their
stories of financial struggle, being at jobs they couldn’t
stand, and having too many negative people around them.

You, I, WE…we weren’t born to be average.

We weren’t born to strive for mediocrity in life.

We weren’t born to spend our lives at jobs we can’t stand.

When I said to the audience, “You weren’t born to be in this
room tonight”, here’s what I was really saying.

You were born for GREATNESS.

You were born to accomplish.

You were born to have fun, be happy, serve others, and be
fulfilled.

You weren’t born to struggle unnecessarily.

Yes, I’m all for improving yourself and going to seminars.
I’ve been working on myself for years.

What I was getting across to them and now to you is this.

Make your move. Now.

Perfection Gone Wild

Motivation, Success 32 Comments »

(Move your chair in a bit closer. This is important.)

For 7 years of my entrepreneurial life I brought along with

me a group of ‘best friends’.

Let me share them with you.

Procrastination.

Scatterdness.

Frustration.

Indecision.

Inconsistency.

And my REAL best friend back then, PERFECTION.

For those 7 years, I couldn’t make 2 dimes as an entrepreneur

and all I did was run around in circles.

I knew I couldn’t break the pattern of entrepreneurial

failure until I beat down its being culprit.

That being PERFECTION.

I see so many good hearted people leaving their potential

untapped because they don’t take their ideas to the

marketplace.

Some of them are scared.

Others are afraid of what their family and friends might say.

Fear rises. Action decreases.

PERFECTION screams out for attention.

Aim for perfection as an employee.

AIM for ‘good enough’ as an entrepreneur who is just getting

going.

That’s what I did and everything changed for the better years

ago.

I bought into a philosophy years ago and I suggest you do the

Do You Have A 1988 Mindset?

Motivation, Success 19 Comments »

“Mike, share with me a recent insight that can help me improve
my life and business.”

Amigo, you got it.

Grab a favorite beverage and let’s go…

Open the newspaper or put on the TV for 15 minutes.

At least 3 times a week you see ‘classic’ American companies
layoff off thousands of people. You see this from Citigroup,
GM, and dozens of others.

This isn’t going to stop. Not at all.

And I fear that when most people look at the calendar they
see 2008, though if you looked inside their mind you’d see
1988.

“Mike, you have my attention, tell me more.”

For most people, and this USED TO BE ME, the world they think
they live in left the building a decade ago.

It did.

***You need to be building and learning how to be a 2010
entrepreneur.

To succeed in today’s marketplace, you MUST change your
paradigm.

You must change the way you see the world and what’s possible
for you.

The opportunities for entrepreneurs have never been greater
then they are today.

Though there’s a big IF.

The ‘IF’ is you must have the SIGHT.

The Invisible Enemy Of Success

Motivation, Success 35 Comments »

They crush us or they raise us.

They beat us down or lay the groundwork for us to soar.

“Mike, what are you talking about?”

One second, amigo. Follow me here.

Think about this.

What’s one of the reasons for low self esteem, low self
confidence, and even depression?

There’s probably many reasons, here’s one of them.

***Negative, Defeating Words Spoken Over You

“You’re no good.”

“You’ll never be anything in life.”

“People like us accept a job and benefits and that’s all life
gives us.”

“You’re overweight.”

“People don’t like you.”

And on and on…

Though, there’s more…

There’s the words NEVER SPOKEN, though that you desperately
want to hear.

“I love you.”

“I’m proud of you.”

“I believe in you.”

“You have what it takes.”

“You’re future will be bright and successful.”

“I like you.”

Too many people at an early age bought into MENTAL JUNK. They
accepted limiting, defeating words spoken over them and many
have brought that BELIEF into adulthood.

Words have IMMENSE power. 25 times more then you can imagine.

The words we BELIEVE and say about ourselves set the limits
for our lives. They do.
