Are you your money?

by Mike Litman

Dear Friend,

Bondage.

Even worse because many people don’t even realize they’re
in its grasps.

It robs our joy.

It steals our passion.

It makes us feel small for no reason.

No reason at all.

We must correct this injustice.

“Mike, let’s take this further.”

You got it amigo.

It’s like an invisible thread that holds our spirit hostage.

I call it a ‘Bondage Belief’.

Let’s get going.

For many people, somewhere in their past, they attached
their SELF worth to their net worth.

They attached their financial situation to the VALUE they
gave themselves.

So then this happened:

Not reaching your financial goals yet = Self punishment

Over the years you might have added in self blame, self
hate, and more.

You ‘forgot’ that your SELF VALUE has nothing to do with
‘doing anything’.

You might have been looking for approval from a parent or
friend years ago and this ‘Bondage Belief’ started taking
hold.

You were searching for love, acceptance and this chain
started to grab hold of you.

Now, it might have your joy in its shackles.

Isn’t it time you bring this ‘Bondage Belief’ to the
surface and release it?

Are you ready to start releasing the ‘Bondage Beliefs’ that
have held you hostage for 10-40 years?

Are you ready to start releasing negative generational
thought patterns that are holding back the GREATEST you?

Write this down or read it twice.

“Money is what I earn, not who I AM.”

Yes, money is important in society. It’s what we get from
serving and helping others.

Though, in my opinion, your joy, peace of mind, and
happiness supercede everything.

When you’re in a state of joy, all types of riches will
flow your way.

Financial, emotional, in health, and more.

You’re more than your paycheck.

Whether it’s $100 a month or $100k a week.

Get excited again about your future.

Start bringing 1 or 2 ‘Bondage Beliefs’ to your awareness
and start releasing them.

There’s a WINNER, an ALL STAR, inside of you.

Let’s get rid of some of your past ‘junk’, the negative
generational thought patterns that have been holding you
back.

Remember:

“Money is what I earn, not who I AM.”

Your SELF worth is not tied up in your net worth.

Let this ‘Bondage Belief’ go. Now.

Let’s correct this injustice.

You were born for a great purpose.

There are people who need to see your smile today, they’re
starving for connection today. They need you.

Be the reward you were born to be. Ready?

Love Ya! You’re The Best!

Your Coach,

Michael

Mike,

You have been a great inspiration to me – I still regularly listen to your masterpiece – “Unleash Your Greatness” cd-rom.

Your post “Are you your money” is a similar message as in the cd-rom – UNSHACKLE THOSE CHAINS!!

Best to you in 2008

Jean December 26, 2007 at 3:04 pm

Mike,
You are absolutely correct…But for many, it is so hard
to unshackle those chains.

I always read your emails to me and I have appreciated
your many positive and uplifting remarks.
Thank you and may your New Year be the best yet!

mike-
read a good quote from salvador dali

” have no fear of perfection- you’ll never reach it”

mike , mike, talk about , talk about how this ties into, you don’t have to get this right , you just have to get this going..

Hattie Pembrook December 26, 2007 at 3:25 pm

Mike,

I appreciate the depth of releasing some of us who feel less than others because we don’t have enough money. Your words and affirmations are very powerful, loving and filled the truth of who we really are.

Thank you for the profound reminder of what’s so.

Sincerely,

Hattie:-))

Mike, your words continue to be a source of inspiration and you usually cut right to the chase and hit it right on. I have felt many times that people think that money defines who they are and also judge others by the same standard. Sometimes, our own family members do that and it takes alot of willpower to brush it aside and stay in a positive frame of mind. Thank you for saying what me and alot of others feel is the case too many times. Warmest regards,
Jerry

Hello and THANKS!

I really believe your messages and emails are a God send. Right now I am (was) feeling very disturbed because I know my potential, I see it. I have been told that I am the most knowledgeable and experienced clothier inthe region. I have requests to speak on image and wardrobe consulting all the time.

I have so many people that rely on my existence from a motivational or business support perspective. Over the last 4 months, I had 19,300 total phone calls in & out of my phone.People call and need me for everything, which was my prayer. THE PROBLEM: “I am better to them than I am to myself”. I can’t seem to apply my own knowledge.

As I have read, “be sure to have people around you that are smarter and more capable”. I was doing that. I was always giving out, well, at least until I started reading your emails. They ALWAYS seem to meet me right where I am.

Thanks Mike…
You right… there a lot of people relying on my smile, words and energy. Thanks for giving me a recharge.

hi Mike…

That was a great and timely post! Too often we get stifled by the bondage that has latched to us… but sometimes we don’t realise that the key to unlock our chains is within our reach.

Hi Mike,

I am a 61 year old man now, who has not made much of his life up and until now. I realise now by listening to your cd’s and reading your blogs that I have been held hostage for all these years through wrong perceptions and incorrect thinking. But with your help, being the great coach and motivator that you are, I have decided to succeed and to destroy all those negative mental patterns that I have allowed to ruin my live for so long. In fact, after reading and listening to your material I have decided to do more in the next 5 years (God willing)than I have done over the past 40 odd years. Success is now my destination and failure is not an option any longer. Love you Mike and thank you so much.

Mike,
You’re right ! But at certain age ,may be after 40 , unshackling becomes difficult for people who are required to spend most of the time ‘working for somebody to meet their two ends’.
Well, I imagine a situation where earning is damn easy and no one is required to spend the whole younghood remaining confined (read jailed)within the four walls called office chamber !!

Mike, I appreciate you more than you know, maybe more than I even know.
I determined that the world has many not so nice people in it, taking advantage of others. When on the internet there appear to be MORE, but I think they are just moving faster, being more obvious, and “well” maybe there are a greater number attracted to this less controled environment.
I determined that I could make money on the internet, and that I was going to intentionally shun the liers, the BS, Crap and Hype out there. I adapted the Marketing name NoMoHype. I think I may have been duped by the EDC Diamond Program. Comments if you want.
How and where, can one go to find a group of people who are working to support each othere, verses take advantage of each other?
I absolutly love your email, your news letter, and your CD’s.
Keep it up, and have a great 2008.

Mike,
Thanks for your uplifting messages over the last one year. I have been tremendously motivated by your newsletter. Let me just add that a man’s self-worth has the potential to enhance his net worth while net worth is incapable of enhancing self-worth. If you don’t like who you are before you make money, you cannot like yourself after making it! You can also check out my blogsite for some motivational postings.

Mike,

Thanks for the continued wisdom and inspiration. You help me in my quest to unleash my own greatness. You remind me of what Marianne Williamson spoke of when she wrote: “Your playing small does not serve the world”. You also serve as a real world example of what she went on to write – “… as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

Keep shining your light!

Michael, you are a true blessing to us.

I agree with you – It’s true injustice! Unfortunately, millions of people believe this big lie as the truth – work 3 jobs, work long hours, sacrifice their families,…, ruin life, and still die unhappy because they never get the equivalent $$$ they are worth.

Michael, thank you for reminding us of this heartfelt truth, to help us get back on track and re-prioritize our values as we begin a new year.

This is a must-read article that should be forwarded to every Smart Single or Smart Couple.

Michael, you are truly the best Coach on this planet earth. I love your work, and I wish you more success and happiness forever.
Happy New Year.

Jimmy December 27, 2007 at 3:59 pm

Hi Mike,

Thank you for reminding us once again that money is not us, but that it is just something we happen to earn. So often we tie our sense of self worth to what we earn and it robs us of our self-worth and joy.

The timing of this message couldn’t have been more perfect, as this is a time of renewal and of joy. What you give to each and everyone who listen to your words is worth more than money.

May you continue to distill more great words of wisdom in 2008 and beyond; may your blessings come in overflowing measure.

Hi Mike

Just wanted to thank you for being an inspiration to us all!!! Many times I have opened your emails to find that that your words are just what I needed to hear. Funny about that!!

As you so often advise us that money is not the problem, we are. Once we accept this without self judgment and choose to walk a different path the changes that unfold are amazing. Is this called the journey of life?

So thanks Mike for all your words of wisdom and the time you so generously share. You are truly one of lifes gems!! We are blessed to recieve this and I am sure that I speak for many in that we are truly grateful to and for you.

I wish you all a grand, happy and prosperous 2008 filled with ease, joy and glory.

Cheers,

Maggie

Dear Mike,
Thank you for all your e-mails. They help me more than I can express thanks. I print messages you send to me and put them into a notebook titled: E-MAILS FROM MIKE. My favorite message is: YOU DON’T HAVE TO GET IT RIGHT, YOU JUST HAVE TO GET IT GOING. Have a wonderful and prosperous New Year!!

Brian Kasian December 27, 2007 at 6:02 pm

Mike- I could not agree more. Everyday you see someone who is held back by their own fears and shackles and do not realize the greatness they could achieve. They float around in mediocrity and accept that as the norm. I think of the quote, I believe it was Lincoln who said- “Good things come to those who wait, but only that which was left behind by those who hustled”. Happy New Year and keep those emails coming.

Charles December 28, 2007 at 5:38 am

Mike,
You are right again. Money fears are what holds us back and we beat ourselves up because of our beliefs and most of the beliefs are not true. Keep sending these motivational e-mails and helping others achieve their greatness! It is within all of us to be great and you have helped many if they follow your advice as I do.
Happy New Year and God bless!

Mike~ I really look forward to your encouraging e-mails. It’s amazing how quickly we can fall into “thinking wrong” traps. Our thoughts create our feelings which create our actions…something that is so important, yet so hard to be aware of. Thanks for all… Happy New Year!!

Thank you so much for reminding me. It starts to remind me of the Pastor in our church. Telling us and reminding us
That we are more than just our money. And read from most of the success books, that money is just a symbol of exchange of values and products to people. Hope you can visit Philippines soon! Have a wonderful year!.
