More on the 'moves' in a second.
Over the last week we've been talking about how whiners, complainers, and critics try to bring us down.
Here's a great story and a great success lesson for you and me.
The weather in New York City was great this Memorial Day weekend, so my wife and I jumped in a cab Sunday afternoon and headed off to a New York landmark.
It was built over 100 years ago, the famous Brooklyn amusement park that's called 'Coney Island'.
It was our first time there and from the moment we stepped foot through the entrance, you can see why so many people love it.
I have to tell you this upfront, I'm not a big rides person. So after my wife dragged me on a few too many, you can just imagine how I felt.
It was 2:30 pm and we went to the boardwalk, where there's a line of restaurants and games to play.
We sat down at 'Cha-Cha's', a well-known restaurant with live music and not only did I get lunch, but I learned a big SUCCESS LESSON.
The only table open was right near the band and they were fantastic.
Out of nowhere, 30 minutes in, a gentleman, who must have been
65-68 years old, took the microphone and started dancing and singing.
The guy was just amazing, he had the energy of a 25 year old. He was a pure natural.
No one, including me, had any idea of where he came from. It's like he just appeared.
After he sang 2 songs, they introduced him as the lead guitarist’s Dad.
I thought to myself, "Now I know where the lead guitarist learned his craft."
But here's what got me.
We were about to pay the check and this 7 year old goes to the microphone, with his 'cool' sunglasses on and starts dancing.
My wife and I were mesmerized. So was the whole restaurant.
"Who was this kid?, How did he learn this?"
I was thinking, "He's going to be a star someday."
The kid just wouldn't stop, he was electrifying the crowd.
I heard someone at the table next to me also ask, "Who is this kid?"
When the song ended and the kid stopped singing, the lead guitarist went to the microphone and said with a smile...
"That's my son."
And I said wow.
Here's why.
The people we surround ourselves with play such a gargantuan role in our lives.
Both positive and negative.
The 65 year old Dad passed on his love of music to his son (the lead guitarist) and he passed on his love of music to his 7 year old son.
You should have seen the joy in all 3 of their faces when they were performing.
If you want a better life, more in.come, more fr.ee time, you have no choice but to put yourself in environments where winners are, you agree?
Just like the dad, his son, and grandson, the closer you are to success and the right attitudes, the greater your chances of succeeding.
I try to once a year put together an environment of 100% winners and positive people, last year, Success Mania 2004 was a homerun and this years event will be the same.
I don't see how you cannot attend, Success Mania 2005 in Atlanta, Georgia, this September 10th and 11th.
It's a fr.ee event and the only fr.ee event I’ll put on in 2005.
You and I will be together for 3 days and you'll hear 7 millionaire speakers.
The dad knew if he could share a positive attitude and the love of music with his kid, that only good things could happen.
And they have.
Let me share with you, for 72 hours, life-changing information and a room of positive minded winners.
